ENR Southeast recently recognized Heidt Design with an Award of Merit in the publication’s ENR Regional Best Projects 2019 Awards. Heidt Design was the lead design firm on the winning project The Lagoon at Epperson, a man-made lagoon in Wesley Chapel, Florida, powered by CRYSTAL LAGOONS® technology.
ENR Southeast’s annual awards program honors the best construction projects and the companies that designed and built them in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Projects compete in 20 specialized categories. The Lagoon at Epperson, a man-made lagoon in Wesley Chapel, Florida, powered by CRYSTAL LAGOONS® technology, won in the Sports/Entertainment category. Industry leaders judged projects using five criteria, including safety, innovation and teamwork.
The 7.5-acre man-made lagoon in Wesley Chapel, Florida, powered by CRYSTAL LAGOONS® technology, features a beach, swim-up bar, water slide, climbing wall, and kayak and paddleboard rentals. It also includes an entertainment pavilion with an 18-foot by 12-foot LED screen.
This man-made lagoon in Wesley Chapel, Florida, powered by CRYSTAL LAGOONS® technology is monitored, controlled and operated by a cloud-based control center. The specially designed systems and sensors continually report physicochemical and other water quality parameters. Mechanical and hydraulic systems constantly monitor and control operation of the lagoon, ensuring excellent water quality.
Heidt Design provided conceptual design, engineering design and landscape/hardscape construction plan design services for the Epperson master-planned community. Epperson, in Wesley Chapel, is the first Metro Development Group community in the country to incorporate these game-changing amenities into master-planned communities.
